Birch Meadow Luxury Cabins/B&B

Just a three-hour ride from Boston you find yourself entering the rolling green hills of Vermont.  Occasionally you will see off in the distance a farm, with cows dotting the pastures.  Cornfields and hay fields were in abundance also.

Exiting off the highway you enter another world of packed dirt roads.  This is how the ride continues until you come over a rise and you see the sign for Birch Meadow Farm.  Turning down the dirt road you see a large barn, which houses an indoor riding arena on one side and the barn on the other.  The expanse of green grass seems to go on forever as you follow the dirt road as it winds up and over the rolling fields.

Tacked on a pole are signs pointing to the Office, the other pointing the way to the Cabins, which are hidden amongst the trees.  As the road winds its way uphill, you are greeted with the site of a beautiful home sitting atop the hill, which belongs to Mary and Matt Comerford the owners of Birch Meadow Farm.  As you follow the road down their driveway that leads to the office, you are presented with a magnificent view of rolling hills and a farm off in the distance.

When we went to the office, we found a note tacked to the door from Mary saying she was mowing the lawn so for us to just head down to our cabin as it was unlocked and waiting for us.

Following the road back down, we turn onto Log Cabin Road and follow it down to the cabins.  There before us were two log cabins, one on each side of the road.  On the porches were two rocking chairs, which were very inviting after a long drive.  Our cabin was the Eagles Nest.  Upon entering the cabin, you immediately felt comfortable.  The interior was warm and welcoming.  The living room and fully equipped kitchen combine to make one big room; there was a bedroom with an air conditioner, and bathroom with a full size tub/shower.  Above the bedroom is a loft that is accessed by a wooden ladder.  The view from the front porch looks through the trees and up towards the barn.  Outside we had a barbeque grill, picnic table and a pit for a fire at night.
